Tons of Hearts

I have tons of heart embellishments and papers because I love them so much.  Way more than I could ever use scrapping Valentine’s Day.  It doesn’t help that pink is my favorite color.  🙂  In the past, I’ve actually planned out tons of photo ops for February, but this year that didn’t happen as much with Michael having surgery.  I finally decided that I wasn’t limiting them to only Valentine’s Day events anymore!  (Please excuse the weird glare on the photo.  I’ve got to find a better spot to photograph layouts…)

RaptorMama_-6I pulled it all out for this page!  Even some rickrack.  I also used both the positive and negative parts of my heart punch.

I even tried some handwriting on my title!  ::gasp::

RaptorMama_-7It looks a bit like hearts threw up all over the page, but I love it.

October Daily Day 1

It time for October Daily!!!  And RaptorDad surprised us with a new photo printer!  <3

I scored a free 6×6 Halloween paper pad at Archivers so I decided to let Raptor make an October Daily of her own.  She usually just scraps with my leftovers, but words cannot express how thrilled she was to have brand new supplies of her own.  🙂

IMG_2270I did the writing for her, but the design is pure Raptor.

IMG_2273Here’s the backside.  She really wanted this little witch to have a purple hat.  🙂  I love crafting with her.

IMG_2274Here’s the front of my Day 1.  I’m using an Apothecary 6×6 pad for the base.

IMG_2275Here’s the back of Day 1.  Each day will be 1 front and back piece of paper 6×6 paper.  I’ll add in additional pages as needed.

IMG_2277Here you can see the smaller page I added because I wanted to write more.  It’s roughly 4×6.

IMG_2278And here’s the backside of page 1.5 with the back of page 1 peeking through.  One of my favorite things about minibooks is playing with different sized sheets of paper and transparencies.  I’ll probably finish this sometime mid November, just in time to get started on December Daily!

Week Nineteen

Yikes.  I can’t believe that I’m so far behind on Project Life.  Actually, that’s a lie.  I can totally believe it.  🙂  I started midyear, and I’m currently photographing week 27.  Here’s hoping I can catch up a bit this week!

Week 19A blogThis week was like pulling teeth.  Probably because I didn’t have as many pictures to choose from.  Still, it’s finished.

Mixing Valentines Day and Christmas Paper

As I mentioned (over and over again) I wasn’t a huge fan of last year’s Christmas releases. I did, however, love some of the Valentine’s Day stuff!  I decided to throw caution to the wind and mix the 2 for one of my Christmas layouts.  I really liked the results!

RaptorMama_I used a few carefully hoarded Christmas scraps from 2 years ago since the paper had some pink in it.  Ironically, I ended up covering up all of the pink.  lol.

RaptorMama_-2Meh.  I still like it.  I also really liked how the title ended up.  I’ve been playing around with using multiple letter styles and I think I’m finally getting the hang of it.

Also, I had totally planned on starting October Daily yesterday, but my photo printer is dead dead dead.  My current plan is to keep up with the photo taking and editing and then order prints at the end of the month.  We’ll see if that ends up happening.

So I Broke Chrome…

So RaptorMama Tech Support (AKA RaptorDad) has ascertained that I broke Chrome.  Didn’t you know?  Breaking computers is a special talent of mine.  I’m now blogging from Safari.  Anyone want to take bets on how long it takes me to break it too?  At any rate, let’s get back to our regularly scheduled scrappy goodness.  Here’s the aforementioned Christmas page with some super old Crate Paper and last year’s Echo Park.RaptorMama SantaIt went together quite quickly.  I just added a bit of washi tape and some wood veneers to finish it off.  Oh, and I outlined the Thickers with a marker to help them stand out from the page.

Mixing Old and New

As I’ve mentioned before, I was getting pretty sick of my Christmas paper by the time I finished scrapping 2012.  Luckily, I was digging through my stash to find something for Raptor to scrap with and I found some old Crate Paper patterned paper that was actually quite a nice match with least year’s Echo Park.

I would love to show it to you, but I’m experiencing a bit of technical difficulty uploading the pictures and RaptorDad’s at work right now.  lol.  Maybe this evening I’ll get them up.  🙂

Awesome sale at Michael’s

I don’t have anything new to post (though I did photograph lots of layouts yesterday!) but I did want to pass along my awesome score from Michael’s. They have 60% off their albums now so I got *5* project life albums for only $7.99 each.

Keeping it Real

I had a hard week.  Last Wednesday our house got broken into.  Everyone is fine and they didn’t take much, but still I’ve spent quite a bit of time this week dealing with the logistics of getting an alarm system installed.  Oh, and checking my house room by room for invaders a la Law and Order.  Have I mentioned that I’m neurotic?  My pepper spray gets here today.  Eat your heart out Stephanie Plum.

We also had Raptor’s 4 year check up which resulted in 2 vaccines.  I’m going to give you a sec to imagine how my drama queen reacted to that.

I don’t have the heart to tell her that we have to go back in a month for 2 more.  Right.  We also got the news that there might be glasses in Raptor’s future.  I’m not going to lie, I figured she’s need glasses eventually, but the fact that she might need them at 4?  It’s making me a little sad.  And then I feel guilty about feeling sad because we are so blessed to have a healthy kiddo.  Luckily, she’s thrilled.  She’s actually been begging for glasses for months, ever since E got them.

glasses RaptorMamaShe fashioned her own out of bristle blocks the other day.  lol.

All this to say that blogging has taken a bit of a backseat to life this week.  Here’s hoping for a productive rest time!

Week Seventeen

I’ve fallen behind on both doing and posting project life layouts.  Might try to rectify that this week.  🙂  At any rate, here’s Week Seventeen.

week 17AblogI’m loving the title card.  I made it with a photo that I took!
